FEAT: GRUPO SAZON JAZZ
"Grupo Sazon Jazz" is an Afro-Caribbean musical group born in the St. Louis area in 2024. The group consists of two vocalists, a keyboard player, a bass guitarist, a section of three percussionists (congas, timbales, and bongos), and a saxophone/flute player.
We like to call ourselves "Ambassadors of LA CLAVE in the Diaspora" since most of our members are natives from Puerto Rico, Cuba, and other Latino nations. “La Clave” is the most fundamental rhythmic pattern in the music we play.
Our music integrates Afro-Caribbean musical styles (ex. cha cha, montuno, guaguanco, boleros, bachatas, and others) and “New York salsa” with elements of mainstream jazz, making our SOUND both enjoyable for jazz listeners and salsa dancers.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 29TH
Jeremiah Johnson, a 2022 Blues Music Award nominee for "Best Blues Rock Album" with 'Unemployed Highly Annoyed,' has been hailed as one of the "75 Modern Blues & Blues Rock Artists You Must Hear 2021" by Rock & Blues Muse.
A world-class Guitarist, Singer, and Songwriter, Johnson masterfully blends the sounds of the south, Mississippi River blues, and a dash of country flair. His emotionally charged southern rock, fueled by the common man's passion for life and its myriad struggles, delivers songs with deep meaning, a compelling voice, and exceptional musicianship.

Country line dancing instructor Sami Mabee has been teaching for the past five years at private events as well as large country music festivals and dance conventions. She always begins her classes with the most challenging dance of the night, not to deter dancers, but to let them know that it gets easier.
“If you can get yourself in the building, you have enough of what it takes to be able to join in on the fun,” Mabee says. “Dancing in general is one of the only things left in this generation where people engage with others outside of their group. As much as you commit to it, you can be included in as many dances as you want.”

TICKETS & INFO: newmusiccircle.org
Horse Lords are a Baltimore-founded (and now partially Berlin-based) experimental rock band whose music fuses the relentless, looping repetition of classical minimalism with the propulsive, motorik groove of Krautrock. The ensemble makes pulsating music that employs ideas such as serialist and minimalist composition, just intonation, polyrhythmic patterning, and free jazz and improvisation. Touring in support of their latest album, Demand to Be Taken to Heaven Alive!, Horse Lords delivers an omnivorous, gripping live experience that is equally at home in DIY basements and formal concert venues.
Shinra Knives, the moniker of St. Louis-based producer Ian Jones, creates electronic music that is emotional, unrelenting, and visceral, merging breakcore and heavy, maximalist music with enigmatic video projections. His tracks were notably championed by Aphex Twin (Richard D. James), who mixed Shinra Knives tracks such as “Black Mouth” and “Laced Blunt” as staples in his touring set.

Blues Forward
Presented by Blues Forever
Born from the spirit and community created around the National Blues Museum jams in St. Louis, BluesForever.org continues that musical energy through live performances, mentoring, collaboration, and education. We believe the best way to preserve the Blues is not just by placing it behind glass, but by keeping it on stages, in jam sessions, and in the hands of musicians young and old.
Our mission is “Preservation Through Performance” — honoring the legends who created this music while inspiring future generations to discover and carry it forward.
From seasoned players to new listeners, BluesForever.org welcomes everyone who believes the Blues still matters. Through community events, live music, mentorship, and storytelling, we are dedicated to keeping the flame burning brightly for years to come.
